A smile. A laugh. A new connection. 💜 For Kristy, these everyday moments help others see beyond a diagnosis and get to know the little boy behind it.

Kristy cares for her 7-year-old son, Charlie, who has Down Syndrome. Charlie is social, happy, and curious about the people around him. His interactions with others are an opportunity to share more about Down Syndrome and how Charlie experiences the world.

"Our hope is that as people get to know Charlie—and gain a deeper understanding of Down Syndrome—they'll not only see that his abilities, personality, and spirit speak louder than any label ever could, but also feel more confident connecting with people whose experiences or abilities may be different from their own," Kristy said. "Like anyone else, Charlie has his own unique talents, interests, and dreams. Down Syndrome is simply one part of his story; it does not define who he is."
