Some of this week's activities included sensory play with rainbow rice, dough, and Play-Doh, as well as tracing our names with dot markers! Each activity gave our students opportunities to explore their creativity and strengthen their fine motor skills.

You're invited to Ellis's fall benefit! Join us as we dine with friends, celebrate the impact of Jerome Smith and Amazon, and honor the extraordinary educators who make Ellis shine. ✨️

Our Ellis learners are continuing to explore their enriching environments. Whether inside the classroom, outside at Ellis play spaces, or throughout our neighboring communities, every setting brings new opportunities to grow and develop.

Congratulations to Ms. Cesarina, one of the incredible providers in the Ellis Family Child Care Network! Cesarina was recently awarded an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) scholarship from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, which will support her as she completes her degree at UMass. At Ellis, we firmly believe that when teachers are supported, children, families, and entire communities thrive! ❤️📚️

Last week, educators at Ellis had dedicated professional development time in preparation for the year ahead. Led by Ellis’s Classroom Educator Partners in the Center for Teaching and Learning, sessions included best practices for observation, the infant curriculum, using music in the classroom, trauma-informed teaching, BPS trainings for our Boston Pre-K classrooms, and much more. Thanks to the CTL, our incredible faculty is prepped and ready for another impactful year. Here we go! 💚📈

The Crickets were all smiles exploring the neighborhood last week! We can't wait to welcome everyone back to Ellis after the holiday break. 💚

Last week, our faculty came together to organize and celebrate Liza, one of our many amazing social workers at Ellis Early Learning, as she gets ready to welcome her baby! Liza provides support, counseling, and resource navigation for all our children, families, and educators at 58. Her work here at Ellis is invaluable and we are so grateful to have had a moment to celebrate her.

We're so excited for you, Liza, and can't wait to welcome your baby boy to the Ellis family!

A little ocean in a bottle!

Some of our young scholars mixed and watched their underwater world come to life. This activity was a fun way to explore colors, movement, and sea life through sensory play.
