This month, we hosted a cookout for graduates of Haley House's LiFT reentry program. Members of the LiFT community came together to play games, enjoy food from the grill, and connect with fellow alumni.

The alumni community is always growing: since the transition to a cohort model, 71 returning citizens have become LiFT graduates! We’re proud to celebrate our LiFT graduates and our entire community of returning citizens.

This Saturday at the Farm, join us for an Herbal Family Medicine workshop! From 1-3pm, we will be learning how to make elderberry syrup. Stop by 95R Thornton Street to connect with neighbors and learn practical skills you can use at home!

Reminder: the Soup Kitchen returns tomorrow, August 17th! Our team is looking forward to welcoming everyone back to catch up over a meal tomorrow morning ☕

Join us this Saturday at the farm for a canning workshop! Part of our Garden Education Series, this workshop will teach basic canning and food preservation techniques with fresh produce from the farm. See you on Saturday, August 15th, at 95R Thornton Street!

Last week, Haley House's summer intern India joined her cohort of New England Council fellows at their end-of-summer luncheon to celebrate a successful season of learning, connection, and community. Thank you, India, for all of your help with Take Back the Kitchen this summer. You will always be welcome in the Haley House community!

Join us this Saturday, August 8th, at the farm for a workshop on processing herbs! Participants will learn techniques for cleaning, sorting, preparing, drying, and storing freshly harvested herbs. Stop by 95R Thornton Street from 1-3pm to gain some practical knowledge and connect with your neighbors!

Haley House is honored to have been selected by the City of Boston to receive funding through the Community Preservation Act, which provides essential support for affordable housing, open space, and historic preservation projects. Funding will support a major repair of the roof at 23 Dartmouth Street, ensuring the continued operation of our Soup Kitchen as well as Haley House's offices and Soup Kitchen Team (formerly Live In Community) residential spaces. We are sincerely grateful to the City of Boston and the Community Preservation Committee for this critical support!

Our Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry will be closed from August 2nd through the 16th for our annual break. We can't wait to welcome everyone back on Monday, August 17th!

Join us for these upcoming events at the farm! Today, we continue our Senior Wellness Series with "Your Health Is Your Wealth" with Chef Fulani Haynes. On Saturday, our Johnette Marie hosts "Headwash 101 cleanse & protect" as a part of our Garden Wellness Series. We hope to see you at Thornton Street for one or both of these community events!
