September is National Su***de Prevention Month.

Sometimes the people who are struggling most are the ones who have become skilled at saying, “I’m fine.”

This month is a reminder to check in with the people you care about, make space for honest conversations, and take signs of emotional distress seriously.

If you’re struggling, you don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out. Support can begin with a conversation, a therapist, a trusted person, or a crisis resource.

And if someone opens up to you, you don’t have to have the perfect words. Listen. Stay present. Take them seriously. Help them connect with support.
