BIO
Les Sampou is an Americana singer-songwriter, who got her start in the Boston folk scene in the 90’s and moved on to national prominence and acclaim. On the road for a couple decades, Sampou has performed at such legendary stages as Montreal Jazz Festival, SXSW, Toronto Blues Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival (where she won the New Folk Songwriting Award), Philadelphia Folk Festival, Winnipeg, and Falcon Ridge to name a few. Sampou has conducted workshops at Berklee School of Music and appeared on top syndicated radio programs such as Acoustic Cafe, World Cafe, and NPR. Sampou has released eight albums, on Rounder Records and her own label. Her album, "Fall from Grace", topped the Gavin Americana Charts nationwide. “Lonesomeville” charted number 2 on the US/European Americana F.A.R. Her newest album, released 2023, is a collaborative, international work called "Like Your Vibe". At present, Sampou writes, teaches, and dedicates herself to an on-going venture into the world of Jazz and Americana music as well as writing for Film & TV. www.LesSampouMusic.com

People often ask me what my favorite part of teaching is.
The answer is easy: watching someone accomplish something they never thought they could do.
There's an old saying: "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." I never believed that.
I've spent decades DOING—touring, recording, writing songs, performing on stages in front of 20,000 people and small, intimate open mics—and I still love every minute of it. But teaching has given me something performing never could: the privilege of watching someone else discover what they're capable of.
Whether it's singing in front of others for the first time, writing an original song, honing your skills to take you to the next level, or finding the confidence to audition for a musical, those moments never get old.
Every student arrives with different goals, different gifts, and a different story. Helping them discover what they're capable of—and watching their confidence grow along the way—is the greatest reward I know.

Hello Everyone!

Teaching has been a great joy in life. When Bella was born and I had to get off the road, I opened the Norwell Voice & Music Studio. After 23 years teaching more than 750 students I'm excited to open a sister studio on the South Coast.
