This week, team Axmed is on the ground in Geneva for the World Health Assembly.

Over the past year, we’ve worked alongside governments, manufacturers, procurers, and partners to strengthen national procurement systems with greater transparency and efficiency.

Whether we're scaling technology-enabled procurement infrastructure, supporting country-led access models, or expanding innovative financing mechanisms for MNCH commodities, the focus remains the same: building systems that help quality-assured medicines reach the people who need them faster, more affordably, and at scale.

We’re looking forward to continuing these conversations at as part of our broader work to help create a future where public procurement systems are stronger, smarter, and built for scale.

One year ago at the World Health Assembly, we made a commitment.

Together with the Gates Foundation, we launched a $10M catalytic co-financing mechanism designed to strengthen public sector procurement capacity for quality-assured maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) commodities.

The model saw a 1:1 match on government procurement of MNCH commodities through the Axmed Medicines Platform, designed to help governments move further, faster, and with greater purchasing power.

Later this month, Team Axmed returns to Geneva with ex*****on already underway.

One year on:
🔹 Six governments are now fully active or in the process of onboarding
🔹 Quality-assured MNCH commodities are reaching frontline facilities

What began as a commitment is now translating into real procurement infrastructure, supporting governments to strengthen national systems with greater transparency, efficiency, and control.

As we head back to WHA, we’re looking forward to building on these conversations and continuing to push toward a future where public procurement systems are stronger, smarter, and built for scale.
