Thousands of New Yorkers, fashion lovers, artists, and advocates encountered something unexpected during New York Fashion Week:

Outside the Michael Kors Fashion show today, cute sheep bag charms (created by Andrea Fischer & Day Off, lamb stickers (image by Kelly Fogel & ) and flyers were handed out to celebrities and people on the street, sparking conversations about live lamb cutting and animal welfare in the wool industry. Through this creative intervention, we challenged the industry to look beyond the runway and called on Michael Kors to take meaningful action for sheep. 🐑💔

Our installation transformed public spaces into a call for transparency, compassion, and accountability.

People stopped.

They looked closer.

They asked questions.

And they discovered the hidden reality behind the wool in our wardrobes.
Together, we brought attention to live lamb cutting - a painful practice affecting millions of lambs in the Australian wool industry.

Because behind every statistic is a living being capable of feeling pain. 🐑💔

Together, we challenged the silence surrounding animal welfare in fashion.

And together, we sent a clear message: consumers deserve to know what — and who — is behind the products they buy.

🐱 Ongoing treatment of 400 rescued cats 🚨

In June, local authorities underwent a rescue operation in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and successfully dismantled a cat theft network operating across several provinces and rescued nearly 400 cats that were still alive. 🇻🇳

As you can imagine, taking care of 400 cats in bad condition is quite the challenge.

Throughout this journey, our partner Vietnam Cat Welfare was among the organizations supporting the authorities from the very beginning. They helped provide urgent care and treatment to dozens of cats in critical condition.

🚑 After the emergency response phase, six cats in need of continued rehabilitation were transferred to Da Nang, where they are now receiving ongoing care as part of the Cats Matter Too project, supported by FOUR PAWS in collaboration with local partners VCW and Paws for Compassion (PFC).

When they first arrived at the shelter, the cats did not yet have names. They were known only by numbers such as 7, 154, 329 and 390. Since then, they have all been given names, and two of them have already been adopted by loving families. 🏡🥰

We're extremely grateful to the partner organizations and people who stepped in to help with this massive effort to help so many cats in need. 💕

Alex Aliume is a Ukrainian-American multidisciplinary artist whose work explores perception, consciousness, and the hidden dimensions of the natural world. For “Sentience,” Aliume chose to focus closely on the eye of a sheep, creating a direct encounter with another living being - something intimate that asks the viewer to look back, observe, and recognize consciousness beyond our own. 🐑 👁️‍🗨️

Aliume states, “This campaign is meaningful to me because animals are sentient beings with their own perception and experience of the world. I wanted the artwork to communicate that idea through the act of looking itself - not simply illustrating a sheep, but creating a moment in which the viewer feels that another consciousness is looking back at them.”

“Sentience” is part of our “Counting Sheep” art trail: a journey of art installations across New York City that aims to raise awareness about the cruel practice of live lamb cutting and calls on global fashion giant Michael Kors to make a public commitment to only source wool that is free from live lamb cutting.

This New York Fashion Week, FOUR PAWS is bringing to the streets: a city-wide art trail revealing the truth behind the wool in our wardrobes.
Created by leading artists, each artwork invites people to stop, look closer, and ask a difficult question:

What happened to the animal before its wool reached the catwalk? 🩸

Behind every piece is a reality the fashion industry rarely talks about.

In Australia, millions of lambs are subjected to live lamb cutting each year - a painful and outdated practice that hurts lambs. Australia is the world's largest wool producer. Thus, over half of all wool used in fashion globally comes from sheep who have endured live lamb cutting.

These aren't just numbers.

Every lamb is a living, feeling being. 🐑

And every consumer deserves to know the truth about the products they buy.
Our investigation of more than 100 fashion brands found that Michael Kors scored 0 points when it comes to public transparency and action on live lamb cutting.
Consumers deserve answers.

Consumers deserve transparency.

And lambs deserve better.

🐕 Dog Apoy’s Long Skin Disease Journey 🏥

If there is one dog whose story breaks your heart, it is Apoy’s. Just look at these pictures. As you can see, he suffered from a severe, chronic skin disease.

A kind man noticed him wandering near his home and began feeding him. When Apoy was brought to our partner, ✨Pro Natura ✨, and the team started treating his skin condition immediately.

We wish we could tell you that Apoy is now fully recovered and that the treatment worked wonders. Unfortunately, helping seriously ill animals often requires months, or even years, of love, patience, and dedicated care. ❤️‍🩹

Throughout this long journey, Apoy has formed a close bond with the staff. Though Apoy still can't be touched or handled directly—his skin remains too sensitive—he has formed a close bond with the staff, choosing to stay near the people who've cared for him for over a year.
