𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 // 𝐓𝐀𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐍, 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬. – General Dynamics Mission Systems announced recently that it was awarded a $230 million follow-on contract modification for delivery of Hammerhead Encapsulated Effector (HHEE) systems to the U.S. Navy.

The Hammerhead mine system provides the U.S. Navy with a next-generation, anti-submarine weapon designed for deployment at intermediate and deep-water depths.

"General Dynamics Mission Systems is proud to support the U.S. Navy's critical undersea warfare requirements," said Dr. Laura Hooks, vice president and general manager of the Maritime and Strategic Systems business at General Dynamics Mission Systems. "As maritime security challenges continue to evolve, the need for advanced mine systems has never been greater. The Hammerhead system represents a significant step forward in providing the fleet with an undersea capability that denies adversaries access across surface and subsurface domains. This contract reflects our commitment to delivering advanced, reliable capabilities that give our warfighters a decisive edge in complex and contested maritime environments," continued Hooks.
