Let's talk about something that sounds way scarier than it actually is. Mites on your eyelids (aka Demodex Blepharitis).

Demodex are microscopic mites that can live on your lids. They're a completely normal part of your skin's ecosystem, the same way certain bacteria live on your skin everywhere else on your body. Having them doesn't mean you did anything wrong or that you're not clean enough.

The issue isn't having them. It's having too many.

When the population grows beyond a normal amount, it's called demodex blepharitis, and that's when symptoms show up. Itching right along the lash line that just won't quit. Vision that fluctuates throughout the day. Styes that keep coming back no matter what you do. A gritty, irritated feeling that drops never seem to fully fix.
