We have ONE MONTH until RTG staff and families run the Flutie 5K for Autism!

Funds raised through the Flutie 5K directly help our students achieve their goals. From covering costs of professional certifications such as OSHA certificates and Red Cross trainings to helping student purchase necessary items such as interview attire and Charlie cards, your donation helps fund their success.

Members of the RTG crew were excited to support REquipment Inc with their 1st Annual 5K Bob’s Way at Franklin Park this past weekend!

“Our relationship with REquipment has created meaningful, low pressure, volunteer opportunities for our students,” says Elyse Forbush, our Director of Employment and Community Partnerships. “Through hands-on tasks such as organizing, equipment setup, and unpacking supplies, students build workplace readiness skills. This collaboration has become an essential part of RTG, offering real‑world experience in a setting that celebrates teamwork, purpose, and inclusion.”

Through RTG’s complimentary tickets, a donation of 700 tickets from the CEO of King Richard’s Faire, Derek Schoettle, and the discount promo codes, we helped bring 1,035 members of the autism community to the Faire – an event many families told us that they never thought they could attend but now have had the opportunity to make lasting memories at.

This past weekend, the Faire included communication preference cards, a sensory guide to all activities and a quiet sensory-friendly space with fidgets generously donated by our friends at Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism

The response for RTG x King Richard’s Faire Autism Welcoming Weekend has been incredible. I have read every request, email, and social media comments and am incredibly grateful to have met so many families.

At RTG, we want to build skills for life, and sometimes you have to make mistakes to do it. We appreciate your patience with us as we grow. We are taking all that we have learned through this experience and are working to build to expand and improve for next year!

We cannot thank the community enough for its enthusiasm and excitement for the first Autism Welcoming Weekend.

We are working our hardest to review all of our requests for tickets. We have closed our Google Form as we make our way through the 1200 requests for tickets. Emails with further instructions have been rolling out. Please keep an eye out for them!

For those who didn’t have the opportunity to complete the form, don’t worry! We are working closely with King Richard’s Faire to explore additional solutions.
