Been one hell of a year man.

Don’t really know how to write this without turning it into an entire trauma dump, but I’ll do my best. Throughout writing this song, I slowly found myself becoming someone I didn’t recognize. A lot been happening. Mom’s been fighting for her life, but we’ve become closer than ever. I lost my job a few months ago, but I still have hope for the future. Lost touch with family, but found safety in myself.

There’s been so much change that somewhere along the way I became colder. Angrier. More resentful. More judgmental. I let the hurt get to me. And from the outside, I know that’s what people saw.

The way I’ve been perceived has really opened my eyes to how nobody know what anyone’s going through. There’s always more to someone’s story than what you see on the outside.

That’s where “Black and White” came from.

It’s about becoming someone you never planned on becoming because life happened. It’s about experiencing the fall and still doing your best to stick the landing.

I designed the cover art around that idea. Black and white represents what we see at first glance. How sided we naturally are as humans. The color represents everything in between. The memories, the grief, the hope, the growth. The parts of a person that don’t fit inside simple conclusions.

Nothing meaningful in life is black and white. Truth is in the middle. Growth is in the uncomfortable. Hope is in the climb.

Thank you to everyone who’s continued to believe in me and see me in color. This song is the most honest I’ve released in a long time. Also I’m singing country now??? Black and White out EVERYWHERE (certified banger)
