Could 3 A.M. last call become permanent in Boston?
A Boston city councilor has filed a proposal that would allow bars and restaurants across the city to serve alcohol until 3 a.m. year-round, instead of the current 2 a.m. cutoff.
The proposal comes after Boston’s temporary 3 a.m. last call pilot for the 2026 World Cup has drawn huge crowds and boosted nightlife across the city. Supporters say making the change permanent could generate more revenue, strengthen Boston’s nightlife, and help the city compete with places like New York and Miami.
