The Giving Back Fund

The Giving Back Fund (GBF) is a national non-profit organization that encourages and facilitates charitable giving by successful athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs and corporations. The Giving Back Fund operates as a flexible, convenient vehicle for establishing individual foundations under a governance structure like that of a community foundation. By offering a straight-forward and cost-effective approach to philanthropy, high-level expertise and professional services, and carefully targeted giving opportunities, The Giving Back Fund assists those who want to give back to society and to the communities that have nurtured them. Established in 1997, The Giving Back Fund was a pioneer in recognizing the potential of leveraging the spotlight of celebrity to benefit a charitable cause. In the past 15 years, The Giving Back Fund has provided philanthropic consulting, management and programming to more than 200 athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and other high net worth individuals. GBF has overseen the distribution of more than $40,000,000 in charitable grants within the United States and other countries, and has developed dozens of unique scholarship, mentoring, medical, arts, and other philanthropic programs. The Giving Back Fund is comprised of many individually identified donor-advised funds, each with its own philanthropic interests and initiatives. Donors are able to create a charitable entity that appears stand-alone, while still benefiting from the “buying power” of pooled assets, the world-class expertise of GBF’s strategic partners, and the grantmaking guidance of senior staff. Donors receive the services of experienced, highly-skilled foundation management personnel to administer their charity and its activities at a small fraction of what these services would otherwise cost. In this way, more charitable dollars are directed to the donor’s charitable intent rather than excessive overhead. The Giving Back Fund's program staff works with athletes, entertainers, business executives and others in concert with their families, agents, advisors and staff to identify and articulate philanthropic objectives, and to create, fund, and manage charitable entities to address these objectives in a meaningful way. GBF specializes in exploring, clarifying and articulating our donors’ philanthropic vision, values and mission into a proactive charitable plan that adds to their legacy. We help our donors select the most worthy beneficiaries of their giving or provide ideas, research, and feedback on how to create novel philanthropy. GBF will properly evaluate requests for support, assess outcome measurements, negotiate grant terms and reporting requirements, conduct site visits and meetings with senior leadership teams, conduct post-grant evaluation and track results.
