Headed to Pompeii this summer for the first time? Here are a few things to know before your journey!☀️

1. Dress for the cobblestones: Pompeii is an ancient city, which means beautiful, but very uneven cobblestone streets. Skip the dress shoes or heels and wear comfortable walking shoes that can handle a few hours on rocky paths.

2. Bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen: There’s little to no shade in Pompeii, so expect to spend hours in the sun.

3. Keep your bag small: Large bags (anything bigger than 40 × 40 × 20 cm ( 15 × 15 × 7 in) and bulky items aren't allowed inside the archaeological park. If you bring one, you'll need to check it at the cloakroom.
