MD Hyperbaric - Boulder
Medical-Grade 100% Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to support patient recovery, performance, and wellness.
HBOT goes beyond simply increasing oxygen intake.
Under increased atmospheric pressure, oxygen availability rises throughout the body, creating physiological conditions that support tissue repair, modulate inflammatory responses, promote angiogenesis, and support mitochondrial function.
For athletes, these mechanisms are being studied for their potential role in recovery, cellular energy production, cognitive function, and the body’s response to physical stress.
The science starts with pressure + oxygen.

Wondering what a hyperbaric oxygen therapy session is actually like?
From getting comfortable in the chamber to breathing 100% medical-grade oxygen under increased atmospheric pressure, each session is designed to be a comfortable and guided experience. Most people spend their time relaxing, reading, listening to music, or watching a show while their body receives increased oxygen delivery throughout the treatment.
If it’s your first session, our team will walk you through every step so you know exactly what to expect.

Healthy aging isn’t about chasing quick fixes. It’s about supporting your body over time.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) works by increasing the amount of oxygen delivered throughout the body, helping support cellular energy production, healthy circulation, tissue repair, brain function, and the body’s natural healing processes. As we age, these systems naturally become less efficient, making oxygen delivery increasingly important.
HBOT is not a stand-alone solution, but when combined with healthy habits like regular exercise, balanced nutrition, quality sleep, and stress management, it can be part of a long-term wellness strategy focused on aging well—not just aging.
What exactly is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)?
HBOT combines increased atmospheric pressure with 100% medical-grade oxygen to create an environment where significantly more oxygen can dissolve into your blood plasma than under normal conditions.
This enhanced oxygen delivery supports cellular metabolism and oxygen-dependent physiological processes involved in tissue repair, collagen synthesis, angiogenesis, and the body’s normal inflammatory response.
Understanding the science behind HBOT is the first step in understanding how oxygen can support the body’s natural healing mechanisms.

Walking out of the chamber isn’t the end of your recovery. It’s part of an ongoing healing process.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy increases the amount of oxygen available to your body’s tissues, helping support cellular repair and your body’s natural healing response. While some people notice they feel relaxed or refreshed after a session, others experience changes more gradually over the course of their treatment plan.
Healing looks different for everyone, and consistency often plays an important role.

Starting something new can come with a lot of questions, and that’s completely normal.
Whether you’re wondering what happens inside the chamber, why your ears pop, or how many sessions you might need, understanding the process can help you feel more confident before your first visit.
Every treatment plan is personalized, and our team is here to guide you through every step of your HBOT journey.

Research continues to explore the potential role of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
A 2009 study published in BMC Pediatrics found that children who received HBOT at 1.3 ATA with 24% oxygen for 40 one-hour sessions demonstrated significant improvements in measures including overall functioning, receptive language, social interaction, eye contact, and sensory/cognitive awareness compared with children who received slightly pressurized room air.
While these findings are encouraging, research is ongoing, and HBOT is not a cure for autism. Treatment decisions should always be made in consultation with a qualified healthcare provider based on each individual’s needs.

Ever wondered what a hyperbaric oxygen therapy session is really like?
HBOT is a comfortable, non invasive treatment that helps your body absorb more oxygen to support healing, recovery, and overall wellness.

Healing
While you’re relaxing in the hyperbaric chamber, your body is working behind the scenes. Increased oxygen supports your body’s natural healing processes at the cellular level, helping repair and recovery happen where it matters most.
The biggest changes often happen beneath the surface, long before you notice them.
