These past few years, our Jewish community has been grappling with numerous daunting issues, including antisemitism and Israel. Most Jewish communities have avoided engaging these polarizing topics for fear of sundering relationships and splitting the community.

Last year, a small group of Nevei Kodesh members decided to try. We created the Ayeka Circle. Ayeka means “”Where are you?”” And what happened in that room was something special.

Ayeka Circles are structured to prioritize listening and curiosity so that relationships can deepen and connections can grow. Past participants will tell you it’s one of those unique opportunities that makes Nevei Kodesh special.

Our next circle is October 5th and the topic is: “”Is Support for Israel Essential for Jewish Faith?””

Ayeka Circles are open to members and people considering membership. Members are welcome to bring guests if arranged in advance with a facilitator. Co-facilitated by Jay Stein and Brian Field.

When there’s a mouse in the office, you call Jay. 🐭

We may have had a little situation over here at Nevei Kodesh... and our board member Jay handled it like an absolute trooper. We are so grateful for the people in this community who show up for everything. And we do mean everything. 😅

Thanks for saving the day, Jay! 💛

We are so grateful for our Nevei Kodesh congregational family, members, friends, and newcomers who make our synagogue a place of belonging. 🏡

The gift of gathering — for Shabbat, holidays, life-cycle moments, learning, music, and simply being together. 🕯️

Our clergy, educators, professional staff, and lay leaders, whose dedication guides and strengthens our community. ✡️

The volunteers who give their time, energy, talents, and caring hearts in so many visible and behind-the-scenes ways. 🙌

The children, teens, and young adults who bring curiosity, laughter, hope, and Jewish continuity to our community. 🌱

Our teachers and learners of every age, who remind us that Jewish learning is a lifelong journey. 📖

The friendships that begin and deepen here — at a shared meal, in a classroom, during a committee meeting, or over a cup of coffee. ☕

The care our community offers one another in times of joy, illness, loss, change, and need. 💛

The opportunity to honor tradition while creating meaningful Jewish life for today and the future. 🌟

The chance to put our values into action through tikkun olam, service, justice, compassion, and care for our wider community. 🌍

😂 Sometimes all you need to do is just be silly and laugh.

We had to share these bloopers — Deb and Heidi couldn’t stop laughing, and we hope it brings you some joy and maybe a giggle or two as well.

Happy New Year and Shana Tovah from us to you. 🍎✨ May you find many moments of playfulness, joy, and laughter this year.

🌊 What are you ready to let go of this year?

As we move through Elul and into the High Holy Days, the practice of teshuvah invites us to turn — to release what no longer serves us and open to what’s ahead.

Deb is letting go of difficult feelings from the past year — and sending them right downstream. 🌿 Heidi is releasing the belief that she has to do everything on her own, and leaning into the truth that she has a whole community holding her. And together, they’re looking forward to good health and the continuation of everything that makes Nevei Kodesh home.

Now we want to hear from you. 💛

Shana Tovah! 🍎✨
