Wild Bear Nature Center began with a simple, bold idea: create a place where people of all ages can connect with the natural world.
 
What started as a mountain summer camp with $500 grew into a year-round place of discovery, welcoming local schools, summer camps, families, and generations of visitors. Before the October 2025 Lakeview Fire, more than 20,000 people visited the free nature center each year.
 
Now, Wild Bear is building what comes next: a new net-zero nature center. A place rooted in the landscape. A place for learning, exploration, and connection. A place where people of every age can experience the wild, together.
