Dear Friends,

As I reflect on the current times we are living through, I could easily fill a page with sorrows, misdeeds, and fears of the world.


And yet, I don’t want sorrow or helplessness to have the final word.


I want to be a voice for the intelligence and power of living systems—and especially for the power of groups—to become a force for love, connection, compassion, and awakening.


There is a beautiful teaching associated with
Thich Nhat Hanh:

“The next Buddha will be the Sangha.”

Sangha means community.



For me, this teaching is a guiding light for our times.

Perhaps awakening is no longer primarily an individual journey.

Perhaps we are being called to learn how to awaken together—how to create relationships, groups, and communities that bring forth the wisdom and compassion already living within us.


When I remember this, I feel more hopeful, more powerful and engaged.


I remember that there is something we can do!


We can create the conditions in which people feel safe enough to connect, courageous enough to be authentic, and supported enough to discover new possibilities together.



This has always been at the heart of MatrixWorks:

Groups are living systems, and living systems have an extraordinary capacity to heal, learn, self-organize, and transform.



Preparing the Next Generation
One of my strongest aspirations for MatrixWorks now is to prepare the people who will carry this work forward.


By the end of 2027, my hope is to have at least four extraordinary, fully trained co-facilitators who can support MatrixWorks programs, as well as at least four fully trained MatrixWorks teachers who can bring this way of working into the world.


To do this, we need more than teaching.


We need practice fields.
We need places where people can learn, experiment, make mistakes, receive feedback, deepen their sensitivity to the field, and gradually embody the principles and practices that make MatrixWorks unique.


Mastery comes through practice.
Creating more opportunities for this kind of learning community is one of our important next steps.

In addition to continuing our free Moon Groups classes online, I am delighted to share two opportunities to learn and practice together in person this October in Crestone, Colorado.

An Invitation
This is where I want to end—not with what is wrong with our world, but with what might be possible.


I invite you to bring your gifts.
Come practice with us. Learn with us. Help us discover what becomes possible when we stop imagining awakening as something we must accomplish alone.


By uniting our hearts and minds, we unlock the Buddha within each of us, transforming our community into the living, breathing Sangha that the world needs.


And perhaps every time we create a group where people can become more awake, more loving, more connected, and more fully themselves, we are already helping that future come into being.


May we become the communities we are waiting for.
