Meet Natalie Avalos!

As an ethnographer of religion and Assistant Professor of Native American and Indigenous Studies at CU Boulder, her work focuses on Indigenous religious traditions, land-based ethics and healing historical trauma.

Tomorrow evening, Tuesday, Sept. 22, she’ll join Tanya Talaga for “The Knowing: Unhealed Wounds,” a conversation exploring the enduring impacts of historical trauma and the stories we carry forward.

Don’t miss two nights of music at JLF Colorado!

🎶 Sept. 22: Indrajit Banerjee & Bijay Shrestha bring the meditative beauty of Indian classical sitar and tabla.

🎶 Sept. 23: Kahat Kabir, a collective of young independent artists from across India featuring Prateek Narsimha (Vocals), Aastha Mandle (Vocals), Rohan Prasanna (Sarod), Saptak Sharma (Tabla) and Anirudh Varma (Keyboard), blends the poetry of Kabir and others with Indian classical, folk and contemporary sounds.

These performances will both close out evenings of literature, conversation and ideas as JLF Colorado returns for a 12th year at Boulder Public Library District.

What a night!

A heartfelt thank you to all who attended, to the Boulder Library Foundation and to the wonderfully talented Virginia Evans for making the 2026 Boulder Library Gala an evening to remember!

While gifts are still coming in, early indications suggest that this year’s gala will provide even more support for vital library programs than last year’s.

Attention 9 - 11 year olds!

This Sunday, head to BLDG 61 and build your own fairy door, then create a magical world around it using natural materials and makerspace tools like the airbrush and laser cutter.

For tweens ages 9–11. A caregiver must stay with tweens in the makerspace.

Main Library will close early at 4:30 p.m. today to host the Boulder Library Foundation Gala. Other library locations will close at their regular times.

We’re launching a new online event calendar and room reservation experience, making it easier to find programs, discover events and reserve library spaces online.

As we move to the new system, room reservations will be temporarily unavailable Sept. 23 – 27.

Room reservations will reopen in the new system on Sept. 28.
