At the 5th Annual Dual Language Colorado Conference, Literacy Squared Graduate Research Assistants, Claudia Norez and Caro Cordova, modeled a paired literacy unit that integrated multiple strategies to make literacy instruction comprehensible and support bilingual learners' language development. Participants experienced how oracy builds receptive and expressive language in a literacy lesson.

Last week, dual language bilingual educators from across Colorado gathered at the 5th Annual Dual Language Colorado Conference. It was great to spend the day with passionate DL educators committed to strengthening DLBE programs statewide. Dr. Jody Slavick, Executive Director of Literacy Squared, gave an inspirational keynote talk and invited participants to travel 10 years into the future to imagine the possibilities. You wouldn’t believe what participants saw. The future looks bright in Colorado!

We just wrapped our 2026 Virtual Summer Literacy Squared Learning Series, and our hearts are full!
