Summer is in full bloom, and the sunflowers are turning their bright faces toward the sky. Did you know sunflowers are one of the few crops native to North America — and that as heliotropes, they physically track the sun to soak up all the light they can? It's a fitting picture for us too. Just as sunflowers follow the sun, we're invited to "follow the Son," continually turning toward Christ to grow deeply rooted in Him. As Colossians 2:6–7 reminds us: "Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith."

Last week I stopped at a roadside stand and came away with cherries and Palisade peaches — and that first bite of peach was like a mouthful of sunshine. A small, sweet reminder of what we already know: God is good, and His provision is generous beyond measure.

As tax season comes to an end, the opportunity to be thoughtful with what we’ve been given endures.

Each year, Grace Commons Foundation helps connect generosity to real needs. With your partnership, we support organizations that extend the hand of Christ through tangible acts of care, both in our local community and across the world.

In response to recent tax law changes, many have found it helpful to look beyond traditional giving and consider other ways their resources can make an impact. For example:

-Appreciated stock or cryptocurrency can allow you to give more generously while potentially avoiding capital gains taxes

-IRA charitable distributions (for those eligible) may help reduce taxable income and fulfill Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs)

-Donor-Advised Fund grants provide a way to put already-designated funds to work supporting the ministries and partners that the Foundation highlights
