I found love on Facebook Marketplace and simply could not let him go home with anyone else. 🥰🛤️ I dragged my vintage hunting bestie Colton Ackerman on a day trip from Grand Central to Bridgeport, Connecticut to Recollective, a two-warehouse wonderland of vendors, each one more curated and eccentric than the last.
The sweetest Melissa Punzalan had been holding my 1969 David Palladini zodiac lover for me, an Art Nouveau meets psychedelic fever dream of a man that I simply could not resist.
But then of course we had to explore. Because that’s the whole point of showing up in person.
The conversations.
The connections.
The discoveries.
The things you didn’t know you were looking for.
Naturally I couldn’t just leave with only one pretty little thing…
A wooden box from 🌞 The Yellow Sky Collective 🌞 with a French chateau garden scene on the lid, that fits my record collection like it was made for it.
And one final find from Proof Jewelry: a needlepoint of Sophia Charlotte, Lady Sheffield, subject of a Thomas Gainsborough portrait from 1786, who will be my new lady of the house. And I’m the tramp.
No idea where any of this is going. But that’s never stopped me.
