Recently, a new family visited The Closet with their two pre-teen daughters. While looking around, one of the girls picked up a stuffed animal and asked how much it was. When she heard it was free, her eyes lit up!

This sweet moment is a reminder that every item donated to The Closet can bring comfort, joy, and encouragement to a child when they need it most.💙

$328,000 RAISED!

We are still in awe! The 2026 Brazos County Purse Bingo raised an incredible $328,000, making it the highest amount ever raised at Purse Bingo!

And one of the best parts? A local anonymous foundation committed to double all gifts during Fund the Need.

Meet board member Amanda Buenger! Amanda began serving on our board in June 2026!

Amanda currently attends Restoration Church Bryan and enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, cheering on her four daughters, and playing and watching sports. She also loves gathering around a table with great people and yummy food!

As a child welfare and juvenile defense lawyer, Amanda has seen firsthand the challenges children and families face and the ways BCS Together helps fill gaps and provide support. She’s excited to continue that community support as a member of the BCS Together board!

Fun fact: Amanda was our founder’s adoption attorney as well as a key voice in shaping BCS Together’s foundation of how we support biological families.

It may still be hot outside, but The Closet is already preparing for colder weather! We are collecting new and gently used coats and jackets for children in foster, adoptive, and kinship families.
