Allen Academy alumnus Jackson Funkhouser ’24 is the 2026 New Mexico Open Champion! Now a junior competing for New Mexico State University, Jackson entered the 54-hole championship as an amateur and shot an incredible 65, 61 and 67 to finish 23-under par (193) and win by seven strokes.
His second-round 11-under 61 set a new course record at Turtleback Mountain Golf Course & Resort in Elephant Butte, New Mexico.
Jackson’s victory adds to an impressive golf career that began at Allen Academy, where he recorded eight first-place, six second-place and three third-place finishes, including seven rounds under par.
Congratulations, Jackson! Once a Ram, always a Ram!
