Want to learn to team rope, but don’t have a rope horse?

George is available for our lease + lesson program for riders who already have some riding experience and want to start learning the roping side.

For $500/month, you get two riding days each week plus one lesson a week. You’ll have the time to get comfortable with George, work on your horsemanship, learn to track and position cattle, and build your roping skills with instruction instead of trying to figure it all out on your own.

George is the horse in this video with Cav, so you can see exactly the kind of work he knows.

This is for riders who can catch, tack up and ride independently. You don’t need previous roping experience.

Message us if you want to come meet George and see whether the program is a good fit.

Tuesday night means ropes are coming out.

Whether you're learning your first swing, trying to clean up your delivery, or ready to start putting it together horseback, come get some reps with us.

Beginners are always welcome. You don't need a horse to start, and you definitely don't need to know what you're doing before you come. That's what the lesson is for.

Tuesday Night Group Roping
7:00 PM
Ground lesson: $25
Groundwork + bring your horse for the horseback lesson: $75 total

Come learn, laugh, miss a few, catch a few, and get a little better.

Who's coming tomorrow night?

Meet Flora | Wild Lady Lips

Flora is a 10-year-old, 16-hand Thoroughbred mare with an interesting mix of experience and potential.

She was originally started as an English horse and has been used as an experienced lesson horse. She’s quiet on the trail, and more recently she has been started on the barrel pattern. She’s an easy keeper, very sweet, and currently ridden about four times a week.

Flora is best suited for an experienced rider. She can get going fast, so while she has lesson-horse experience, we don’t want to represent her as a beginner horse. For the right rider, she offers a lot of versatility and several directions to go.

Flora will be available at the Fiddler’s Green Horse Sale Weekend.

Meet Juice | 4-Year-Old Quarter Horse Mare

Juice is a nice young mare with a combination we really like: quiet and sensible, but athletic and work-oriented.

She has been started on calves, worked at the sale barn, and has done pasture work. Her owner reports that kids and beginners have ridden her, but she is still a young horse and is currently best suited for an advanced rider who can continue her training. Her owner believes that with continued training, she has the potential to make a great youth horse.

Juice will be demonstrated doing general arena work and working cattle during the Fiddler’s Green Horse Sale Weekend.

Meet Lady | 5-Year-Old Bay Mare

Lady is the kind of young mare with a lot of possibilities ahead of her. She’s kind, willing, and has experience both in the arena and around the ranch. She’s been ridden by adults and youth and has the temperament and foundation to continue in a number of directions.

Lady will be available during the Fiddler’s Green Horse Sale Weekend, November 7 & 8 in Bryan, Texas. Come meet her, watch her work, ask questions, and schedule a ride if you think she may be a fit.

Completing the form doesn’t commit you to anything. It gives us a little information about what you’re looking for and lets you ask questions, request a PPE, or schedule a time to ride her.

It takes a village to make a roper.

Apparently today that village consisted of Josh on a horse, Cav coaching from the back of the side by side, and me driving circles around the arena dragging the sled.

But this is exactly why we use the sled.

Josh gets to work on tracking, position, swinging and making his throw without having to manage a live calf at the same time. And Cav can stay right there beside him, make corrections, and have him immediately try it again.

Break it down. Get the reps. Add the next piece when you're ready.

It isn't particularly glamorous.

But this is how ropers get built.

Looking for your next horse? Come see them in person.

Fiddler’s Green Horse Sale Weekend is November 7 & 8 in Bryan, Texas.

We’ve selected just 6 horses for our first private treaty sale, ranging from ranch and trail horses to roping and performance prospects.

This isn’t an auction. Come watch the horses work, meet the owners, ask questions, and have the opportunity to ride the horses you’re interested in before making a decision.

Over the next several weeks, we’ll introduce each horse with photos, videos, asking price, experience, rider level, and the information you actually want when shopping for a horse.

No bidding. No auction pressure. Buyers and sellers deal directly with each other.

Follow along as we introduce the Fiddler’s Green Horse Sale lineup.

Weekend Feeder Needed | Fiddler’s Green, Bryan

Fiddler’s Green is looking for an experienced horse person to take over our regular weekend feeding.

The schedule is:
Saturday AM & PM
Sunday AM & PM

We need someone who can commit to most weekends. We understand everyone occasionally needs a weekend off, and we can work around that with advance notice. What matters most is having someone dependable who treats this as a regular commitment.

You must have enough horse experience to work independently, handle horses safely, and recognize when something doesn’t look right.

Compensation is flexible depending on what works best for you:

• Regular paid position
• Trade toward board for your horse
• Trade toward leasing one of our horses
• Or we can discuss a combination

This could be a particularly good fit for a college student or local horse person who wants to reduce the cost of keeping or riding a horse while earning some extra money.

If interested, message me with your horse experience, current availability, and whether you're interested in pay, board, or a lease arrangement.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with teaching yourself.

Swing the rope. Watch videos. Rope the dummy. Get the reps in.

But eventually, most of us reach a point where we don't know why something isn't working.

That's where a good coach helps.

Sometimes it's your swing. Sometimes it's your hand position. Sometimes you're looking at the wrong spot. And sometimes one tiny correction changes the whole picture.

Lessons aren't about having someone do the work for you. They're about making sure all that work you're already putting in is moving you in the right direction.

If you've been trying to figure out roping on your own, DM us to see if we can help.
