Needless to say YOU HAD TO BE THERE for Yufeng's demonstration of (mis)Read Memory Only. It was a super charged interactive multimedia display combining AI Computer Vision Processing with the lab's TV Video Wall and Camcorder feed. Head movement and hand gestures modulated playback and scoping of 2D to 3D dept video processing. Thank you yufeng zhao for making the Recently Possible and Obsolete overlap Video Archaeology Lab

2 Weeks Ago Jenson Leonard Cory in The Abyss exhibted "Fauna Jam" Video Archaeology Lab for The DEAD MEDIA Residency. The residency supported the expansion of a short demo reel into a 3 channel piece looping asynchronously for over 5 minutes a piece. The gathering stirred a lot of conversation about the role of AI in creating new digital art aesthetics and how generative imagery fits into media consumption on new and old technology.

A hands-on tutorial of media artist yufeng zhao custom who has built Computer Vision application, designed to interpret and misread a video file. The computer algorithmically “cold reads” things like: text, faces, bodies, objects, speech, and other areas of interest. We'll briefly learn about the background of each algorithm, then remix its readings and mis-readings into visual collages and live video effects. No coding experience required. The application will be distributed with a USB-A thumb drive.
