The post says he is ready to meet potential adopters.
Lily, described as about 2 years old and wearing a pink sweater, is described as very timid, shy, and sweet. The shelter said Lily may tremble before she knows you, but that she becomes affectionate once she feels safe, including giving “sweetest little kisses” and rolling over for belly rubs. The post also says having another dog around helps Lily feel more comfortable.
The shelter said people can come meet either dog at CBAS without an appointment. It also said a meet-and-greet can be arranged for anyone who already has another dog at home to help ensure the match works.

Buffalo Mayor Sean M. Ryan said the city wants “more homes” and is making it easier to convert vacant lots into new homes and rebuild blocks.
In an announcement, Ryan said the city and the University at Buffalo are launching Buffalo Ready Homes, a partnership intended to make it simpler to build single-family and two-family homes on vacant lots. The effort is set to begin on the East Side.
Ryan said the two teams will develop a set of pre-approved housing plans that meet Buffalo’s zoning requirements and reflect the character of local neighborhoods. Once the plans are completed, Ryan said they will be made available through the city for small builders, nonprofit housing organizations, property owners, and community partners to use.
According to the announcement, addressing zoning and design needs up front is meant to reduce uncertainty and make it easier to move from a vacant lot to a new home. Ryan said each project still requires permits and city review for its specific property, but builders would have starting plans.
The mayor also said he secured funding in the State Senate to launch Block by Block and support new affordable homes, and that the new partnership builds on that work. Ryan said the goal is to help rebuild full blocks, expand homeownership opportunities, and strengthen neighborhoods.
Ryan said community input will shape the designs, and that completed plans are anticipated in summer 2027. The mayor said residents can share what types of homes neighborhoods need and what would make a new home fit on their block.
The announcement directs residents to a survey for comments.

The shelter said Lady Rose may be reserved and confused while adjusting to shelter life after spending six years in a home. It said she is still willing to come right up for a snuggle.
According to the shelter, Lady Rose walks at a pace that allows people to breathe and take in their surroundings. The post said she sits nicely for treats and can perform “paw” and “down.” The shelter also said she will bark if someone takes too long to offer a treat.
