The official page of Buffalo's Own-Golden Griffin Army ROTC Battalion. Our program is comprised of students that attend Buffalo area colleges and universities.

The Golden Griffin Battalion is headquartered at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. The Battalion is partnered with SUNY at Buffalo (UB), SUNY at Buffalo State College and is affiliated with Daemen College, D'Youville College, Hilbert College, Medaille College, and Erie Community College. The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Cadets from the GGBN and St. Boneventure’s ROTC programs conducted their Superlab this past Saturday at Erie County Forestry to enhance leadership skills in preparation for CST 25 this summer. Excellent job to all who participated despite the less than agreeable weather.

Last weeks cadet of the week goes to CDT Fonfrias! During labs CDT Fonfrias conveys excellent professionalism and fervor. She sets an example for those under her and goes above and beyond both in training and for the Ranger Challenge Team. Additionally, she participates in several color and fundraising events. Congrats CDT Fonfrias!

During the week of 24-28 FEB, the CDT of the week was CDT Mukulu. CDT Mululu is always punctual and setting the example for the other cadets to follow. During this week through portrayal of his dedication and motivation, he was selected to go to Air assault school this summer. This character he exudes, inspires and motivates others around him! Keep up the good work!!

PART 2: additionally we want to congratulated CDT Ruth for being selected as our programs George C. Marshall recipient as top cadet in the program. CDT Ruth will participate in a conference at Ft. Knox, KY in the spring for all George C. Marshall winners and get a chance to connect with many senior leaders in the Army to be mentored. Congratulations to him and to all the cadets on their branches! Good luck to all of you and can’t wait to see how you all develop into leaders for the US Army!
