Almost back to school time…. Almost BIKE BUS season!!!

Last night, at their annual National Night Out celebration at the Delavan-Grider Community Center, the GObike team was proud to accept the President’s Award from Norfolk Avenue Block Club #1 in recognition of our groups’ ongoing collaboration over the past five years.

This award holds deep meaning for our team, who have had the privilege of working alongside Block Club President Angie Davis Leveritte and other area block club leaders on both our East Side Trails and Healthy Streets Initiatives. Grassroots community partners like these are essential to creating positive, lasting change. Norfolk’s vision for a more connected East Side is rooted in a profound love for their fellow residents and stands as a powerful example of what neighbors can accomplish when they come together to uplift one another.

From improving access to free bikes and safety gear, to planting street trees, beautifying curbs with flower pots, commissioning a stunning neighborhood mural, and cultivating flowers along the William Gaiter Parkway bike path, Norfolk Avenue Block Club #1 has consistently led initiatives that unite neighbors and have made strides that will positively impact the community for generations to come.
