Thank you all for a wonderful season! We will still do a few unannounced pop-up open days this month when we can, and there may even be an event, but mostly we're looking forward to next spring!

September is coming to an end, and so is our regular season schedule at the 1833 Buffalo Lighthouse. Last chance tomorrow for a tower climb, with the site open 11-4 and tower tickets from 12 to 2:45.
That said, watch our page for occasional October open dates, weather and volunteer availability permitting!

Still feeling the vibes from a great Signer's Day at the lighthouse, including giving out free quill pens and copies of the Declaration of Independence! Although we did have to explain to some of the kids what a quill pen was!

Beautiful day to celebrate the postponed "Signer's Day" as part of America 250 and EC250 at the 1833 lighthouse. Thank you to all those who came out for tower climbs and free site visits Saturday, and especially to all our volunteers who make it all happen. And thanks to Ben Read for the historic-looking photo of the Keeper and his lighthouse!
EXPANDED SATURDAY HOURS: While our America 250 event is scheduled for 1 to 4 Saturday, we've decided to open the site at 11 a.m. for free public tours. The lighthouse itself will be open for climbing from 12 to 3, with tickets at the gate.

The 1833 Buffalo Lighthouse Historic Site will be CLOSED this Wednesday, due to a large event at the Coast Guard base that will have huge impacts on parking and traffic.
We will be open again from 1 to 4 pm Friday for site visits, weather permitting. Our major America 250 event will be 11 to 4 pm Saturday, with constitution copies and quill pens for kids who help us celebrate the original signers!

Quiet night at the lighthouse Thursday, but American Patriot was back in port. Just in time for the National Chicken Wing Festival!
A reminder, the postponement date for the rained-out Aug. 2 Ratification Day celebrations for America 250 is Saturday, Sept. 5. Free site admissions and quill pen prizes for the kids! Check back for details, soon!

Along with the rest of the America 250 events, we have had to postpone today. Sorry -- and we hope to see you soon on a non-rainy day!

POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER ⛈️⛈️⛈️
Sadly, our celebration of America 250/Kid’s Day is postponed as the storms threaten to take the afternoon sun from us today. Slick conditions and storms make tower climbing and site exploration a bit unsafe for our little ones, and guests in general!
Look out for a new and sunnier date for this event, and come see us during our regular hours on Friday and Saturday (posted weekly) before the summer ends 💛
