Mercy Flight

Mercy Flight EMS is opening its doors in Batavia, and we’d love to welcome you!

Join us on Saturday, October 24 from noon to 3:00 p.m. for a free, family-friendly Open House at our Genesee County Operations Center - 8050 Call Parkway, Batavia.

Meet members of our Mercy Flight EMS team, tour our facility, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the people, equipment and resources that help us provide lifesaving care to our communities every day.

We’ll also have plenty of fun for the whole family, including a basket raffle, kids’ crafts, a costume contest and more!

We hope to see you there!

We’re grateful to News 4 WIVB Buffalo for sitting down with Mercy Flight President Margaret “Margie” Ferrentino and Executive Vice President Scott Wooton to reflect on Mercy Flight’s 45-year history and the people and experiences that have shaped our mission.

While this interview aired prior to our BASH for Mercy Flight and includes an invitation to join us for that celebration, the story it tells is much bigger than one event.

There is something especially meaningful about hearing Mercy Flight’s history from Margie, who was there when it all began. From serving as an EMT and helping turn an idea into a reality in 1981, to leading the organization today, she has had a remarkable perspective on 45 years of growth, change and, most importantly, lives touched.

As Margie shares in the interview, “The feeling of giving somebody another day, another week, another year or years with their loved ones … is just so incredibly rewarding.” That is what 45 years of Mercy Flight represents.

We are incredibly fortunate for the leadership that has carried this mission forward, for the dedicated people who answer the call every day, and for a community that has believed in and supported Mercy Flight for 45 years.

Thank you, WIVB, for helping tell our story.

We are incredibly grateful to The Alden Auto Show Committee for continuing a tradition of generosity that has supported Mercy Flight and our lifesaving mission for more than two decades.

This year, the committee presented Mercy Flight President Margie Ferrentino and Executive Vice President Scott Wooton with an amazing $20,000 check from the proceeds of this year’s Alden Car Show!

Flight Paramedic Rob Haley and Flight Nurse Jennifer Crotty were also on hand to help accept the generous donation from Car Show Co-Chairs Mary Lynne Tarquini and Jeff Beisiegel.

For 22 years, the Alden Car Show Committee, its volunteers, participants, sponsors and supporters have stood behind Mercy Flight. That kind of longstanding community partnership means more than we can say.

Thank you to everyone who continues to make the Alden Car Show such a success and for helping Mercy Flight be there when our community needs us most. We are truly grateful for 22 years of friendship and support!
