ONE8FIFTY’s intent is to increase the number of registered organ donors in New York State through community awareness and creating a call to action for New York State residents to become registered organ donors. I am a few hours away from my 13th anniversary of my pancreas transplant. It has never been lost on me that my health and well-being in this regard is completely based on the passing of a 17 year old young man. As my grandson is approaching that age, I can only imagine the pain and anginst his family must be feeling. I do not know who they are. From what I know he was in and out of foster care at his passing. The only solice I can take is that I am unbelievably grateful for the life that he has provided me and my ability to be here for my family and friends. I hope that my efforts to pay forward my good fortune is enough and the fact that there is not a day that I don't recognize how truly lucky I am. If you are a registered I thank you, if you are not, please consider supplying this tremendous gift of life to those in dire need.
