More than three decades ago, a team of soundtrack artists formed a unique organization dedicated to reinventing the soundtrack creation experience. Between 1968 and 2005, Echo transformed the post production sound process, literally inventing what we know today as the complete sound package. Along the way the company won more Emmys, Golden Reels and other recognition for quality than any other sound company in the world. The name “Echo” ultimately fell, victim to corporate consolidation, and on July 31, 2005, Smart Post Sound, Inc was born. It was a brand new company with a thirty year history, quite literally the oldest and youngest sound company in the world. Home to top sound designers and re-recording mixers, Smart Post Sound has earned 14 Emmys and 34 Golden Reels. While basketball fans have been focused on the Finals, we’ve been focused on making them sound great. 🏀🙌🏼
We’re excited to share that Smart Post Sound has been handling the audio post production for ESPN’s NBA Finals broadcast opens.
It’s always great seeing projects like this come together, especially knowing the finished work will be heard by millions of fans during one of the biggest events in sports.
A lot of talented people contribute to every broadcast, and we’re grateful to be part of the team helping bring the NBA Finals to life.

Season 4 of Dark Winds premieres Sunday, February 15 at 9pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+.
New season, bigger world. This time the story stretches beyond the Navajo Nation and into 1970s LA, bringing new energy, new locations, and plenty of twists along the way.
We're beyond proud to have handled the post sound on Season 4, and we’re excited for audiences to hear how this season all comes together.

Working on the sound for Netflix's new series "The Abandons" brought up a lot of memories about where our relationship with Westerns really started. Back in '89, Lonesome Dove pushed us in ways that ended up shaping how we approached this genre even today.
We put together a short write-up about the connections between the two shows, the workflows that made Lonesome Dove possible, and why The Abandons felt like a meaningful full-circle moment for us.
