Weâre proud to be the FIRST sponsor of the Route 66 Toy Drive!
AMC Legal, P.C. is excited to support Collinâs Eagle Scout Project with a donation of 2,500 toy cars, bringing his project 10% of the way toward his goal of collecting 25,000 cars!
Collin is bringing our community together to attempt a Guinness World Record for the longest line of toy cars. But the real reward comes after the record attempt, when the cars will be donated to children in need for the holidays.
As a family-owned business, we believe in supporting our community, encouraging our young leaders, and helping make a difference in the lives of others. Weâre excited to be part of this incredible project and hope other local businesses and families will join us in supporting Collinâs mission.

Itâs not always an easy subject to bring up, but talking with your family about your final wishes can save them from having to make difficult decisions later.
Illinois lawmakers are once again considering whether natural organic reduction, sometimes called human composting, should be a legal option for final disposition in Illinois. AI notetakers are incredibly convenient, but they may come with privacy risks that are easy to overlook, especially here in Illinois.
Before adding one to your next meeting, take a minute to understand what itâs recording, what data itâs collecting, and whether you need everyoneâs consent.
Definitely something to be aware of as these tools become more common.
When AI Takes Notes: Court Allows Privacy Claims Against Otter.ai to Proceed Otter.aiâs AI notetaker tool has been accused of violating Illinoisâs biometric privacy law, and the California court hearing the case recently let the proceedings move forward. As we have previously written in our sister blog, AI notetaker tools carry a growing range of legal risks.

You may have seen some headlines about Illinoisâ new assisted dying law being put âon hold.â Hereâs whatâs actually happening.
The law is still scheduled to take effect September 12, but a temporary court order has paused certain requirements for a small group of doctors and hospitals while their legal challenge moves forward.
So, the law itself has not been stopped statewide.
This is a developing issue, and Iâll continue to follow it and share updates that may be helpful for Illinois families, particularly when it comes to health care directives and end-of-life planning.

Trademark Tip
Registering your business with the state does not automatically give you trademark rights.
A business name, domain name, and trademark are all different legal concepts.
If your brand is valuable, protecting it with a federal trademark may be one of the smartest investments you make.
