Labor Day has a little different meaning when you work in construction.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some incredibly talented, hardworking people. People who get up early, work in every kind of weather, solve problems that most people never see, and at the end of the day can point to something and say, “We built that.”

That’s one of the things I love most about this industry.

Behind every project are countless people—our employees, project teams, skilled trades, subcontractors and partners—each playing a part in bringing it all together.

So this Labor Day, I hope we all take a moment to appreciate the people behind the buildings and communities around us.

And to everyone who works hard every day to build something they’re proud of—thank you.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible team and trade partners who put in the long days, extra hours, and tremendous effort this summer to get our school projects across the finish line and ready for the first bell.

Summer construction schedules don’t leave much room for error. It takes teamwork, coordination, flexibility, and a lot of hard work to make it happen—and once again, our team delivered.

We’re proud of what we accomplished together and even more proud knowing these spaces are ready for students to learn, grow, and make memories.

A $10,000 mistake?
Safety is a top priority at All-Bry, and one of our guiding principles is to choose the harder right over the easier wrong.

Recently, while preparing to demolish a chimney for Chicago Public Schools, our team encountered unanticipated conditions during the removal of a metal flue liner.

The work had been planned. The pick plan had been approved. The team was ready.

But after reviewing the conditions on site with our team (CPS/PMO, Jacobs, Sheffield Safety, and Stevenson Crane), we made the decision to cancel the pick.

It cost time and money, but it was still the right call.
Production matters. Schedule matters. Cost matters.
Safety matters more.

This Fourth of July, we're reminded that freedom is something to celebrate—and something that has always required sacrifice.

As our team at Sheridan Park safely lifts rooftop units with the Chicago skyline standing proudly behind us, we're grateful to be part of building and improving the communities we call home.

This Fourth of July is especially meaningful as our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary. Our owners are all veterans of the U.S. military, making this day a special reminder of the service and sacrifice that protect the freedoms we enjoy.

HAPPY NATIONAL TAKE YOUR DOG TO WORK DAY!

Hunter takes his role as office greeter, morale booster, and unofficial meeting supervisor very seriously.

Safe to say productivity may dip slightly when he makes his rounds for attention, but office happiness definitely goes up.
