Mahjong Mischief

About 16 years ago, I got to see Dolly Parton on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
To request tickets for the show, you had to explain why you wanted to see Dolly. Of course I loved her music, but I wrote about how much I admired her business savvy and her generosity — especially her work with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Apparently, it was a good answer, because I got the tickets. 😉
And what an episode it turned out to be! Dolly sang “I Will Always Love You,” Oprah got emotional, and then Kenny Rogers came out and joined her for “Islands in the Stream.” Definitely one of those I can’t believe I’m actually here moments.
So, in honor of Dolly, let’s play some mahjong and raise some money for her Imagination Library. 💗📚

On Friday, September 25, we’re kicking off Mahj for Good with an afternoon of Guided + Open Play at Bottle Theory in Elmhurst, with all profits benefiting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

My longtime friends Denise and Becky each won a round at yesterday’s Mahjong tournament to benefit The Community House in Hinsdale.

I may have introduced them to mahjong, but clearly they took it from there. 😉❤️
So proud of these two and the rest of the and Mariposa Mahjong crew that went to their first tournament and did so well!

The Community House staff and volunteers did a wonderful job running the tournament and making everyone feel welcome. Thank you for a great day!
