Free, Virtual Family & Loved Ones OCD Support Group this Saturday, October 3rd from 11am - 1pm PT!
This Saturday, board members Chris Trondsen, LMFT, LPCC, a clinician with OCD, and his mom, Liz Trondsen, are hosting a free support group for those loving and supporting someone in their lives with OCD.

The first hour will be a discussion with a parent of someone with OCD (Liz), a clinician with OCD (Chris), and a psychiatrist (Dr. Jennifer Siegel) around how loved ones can foster healthy, open, and transparent communication with the person in their life who has OCD. Also, what to expect as their loved one navigates treatment and how to have an open discussion during the process.
Open to family members, parents, spouses, friends, and people with OCD--along with clinicians! Come join and email [email protected] with questions.

“Rising Above: Five OCD Journeys and What They Teach Us About Getting Treatment Right”
Announcing our 5 Keynote presenters kicking off our Online OCD Conference at 9:30am PT on Sat., Nov. 7th: Mourice Schuurmans, Madison Fankhanel, Deidre Rae, Gur Yilmaz, and Sammy Gallagher!
The International OCD Foundation published a report titled, “America’s OCD Care Crisis: National Findings on the Failure of Effective OCD Treatment to Reach Patients.” It uncovered “striking findings” about the number of people who do not receive appropriate OCD treatment. The report goes on to also offer hope and tangible recommendations.
We’ve selected five members of the OCD community who will help illustrate the white paper’s findings and recommendations, moving from the struggles people experience in receiving a proper diagnosis to ideas to close the gaps in access to support and how to find appropriate care.
Register at https://ocdconference.eventbrite.com/ and for more conference info, visit: https://ocdsocal.org/conference!
After experiencing severe OCD himself and struggling to access the right support, Mourice now works to make effective early intervention for OCD accessible through ObsessLess, a care companion for people with OCD.
Madison spent years experiencing internal compulsions before she was properly diagnosed with OCD. She is now an IOCDF advocate who shares her lived experience on social media and advocating for proper treatment.
Dierdre struggled with OCD most of her life but was not diagnosed until age 19. Because she does not “like to clean” she never associated her symptoms with OCD. She is now a mental health advocate who has shared her lived experience with OCD with a global online community.
Gur is originally from Turkey and has dealt with OCD since the age of 12. Gur served 5 years in the military where his OCD was especially difficult to handle. He is now a psychiatric nurse for military members and their families.
Sammy was diagnosed with OCD right before her 13th birthday. It took months of treatment center denials and several psychiatric stays for Sammy to get admitted into an IOP to start ERP treatment. She says it took years to get where she is today, but she is now 19 and starting her second year of college.
See you all there! 👋🏼
