Important reminder as school buses begin rolling on Monday.

Please help us share this message ... As we begin the new school year on Monday, Aug. 3, we ask all drivers to remember the rules of the road when encountering school buses, bus stops, and school zones. Do not pass a stopped school bus! Wait until school bus red lights have stopped flashing and all children and other pedestrians are out of the roadway before you resume driving. Our buses are equipped with stop-arm cameras -- violators will be recorded and issued a $1,000 citation by mail! Learn more: https://tinyurl.com/CCSDsafebus Slow down as you pass a bus stop where children are waiting. Slow down as you approach schools and follow the posted school zone speed limits. Traffic will be heavy around all schools for the first week of classes as higher numbers of parents initially drop their children off at school before beginning to use our buses. Local law enforcement agencies will have an extra presence around all our schools during our first days to support our police officers and crossing guards and Cherokee Sheriff’s Office crossing guards.
