Think a logo is all you need? Think again. A logo is an important piece of your brand, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle.
The hand-drawn peony became the central mark for Cloud Flowers & Garden, but the brand needed more personality, depth, and texture to support Becca’s vision for a future storefront, a presence at local markets, and opportunities to grow the business in new ways.
I introduced two feminine profile illustrations to bring some character, then layered in vintage paper textures, botanical patterns, and subtle painted backgrounds to give everything that old-world, French country feel. The color palette followed the same direction to create something soft and nostalgic.
Carrying all of these elements throughout the identity gives Cloud Flowers & Garden plenty of ways to show up, from custom floral wraps and gift tags to clothing, merch, socials, and beyond.
That’s the value of investing in more than just a logo. You’re building a visual identity that can grow with the business.
Be sure to follow Cloud Flowers & Garden LLC. and look for them at a local market soon!

Introducing Cloud Flowers & Garden.
On a family farm in Canton, Georgia, Becca is growing something with a strong sense of tradition and care, while working to cultivate a local business that celebrates women, creativity, and community.
When she came to me for the branding and visual identity, we leaned into French country charm and old-world European flower shops, building an identity around hand-drawn vintage illustrations, classic typography, ornamental details, and a muted, nostalgic palette.
Becca and her team were amazing to work with. Her clear vision and passion for what she was building made this a fun process of seeing it all come together.

How the Bosshole logo came to life.
Bosshole Golf is all about loving the game despite the frustrations, so I wanted something that could represent all the persistent nuisances that get between you and enjoying the game.
Enter the crow. 🐦⬛ Annoying, aggressive, has an attitude, and shows up when you don't want him around. That's a bosshole.
I started with some really rough pencil sketches till I liked the direction. Then I moved that into the Procreate app for tracing and refining the concept. Finally, I exported that into Illustrator to create a custom logo with a unique personality to set the Bosshole brand apart in the golf apparel world.

PSA: You don't just need a logo. Your brand shows up in different places, so your logo should be flexible enough to work in every context.
For a golf apparel and accessories brand, a single logo would never cut it. Bosshole Golf needed to work across shirts, hats, golf balls, bags, all kinds of accessories, plus digital and print marketing materials.
Without using obvious golf images, I was able to work subtle references to the game into the brand itself.
• Golf tees are incorporated into the primary logo.
• A pin flag is hidden in the monogram
• The bottom of a golf cup serves as a subtle background element
• The crow sits inside a golf hole
• Or inside a symbol inspired by the motion of a golf swing.
• Repeat that symbol, and it starts to resemble the dimples on a golf ball.
It's a lot, but this type of design strategy gives so much brand flexibility and recognition wherever it shows up.

There's a new golf apparel and accessories brand ready to hit the links, and I got to do the brand design!
So, what's a Bosshole? Well, all the things that try to get between you and enjoying the game.
• A Friday afternoon meeting.
• A bad bounce.
• A three-putt.
• The annoying crow just as you're ready to putt.
They're frustrating ... but we keep coming back because we love the game.
This was one of the most fun and unique branding projects I've ever done, from the illustrated mascot brandmark and expanded logo system to the colors and special branding elements.

It's what I do. Take abstract concepts and messages, find the connections between them, and create clarity by bringing them all together into something purposeful.

When Big Fish Technology brought me in to expand their visual identity, I started with something they already owned: their logo.
I worked with the team to conceptualize what each of their five core values could look like visually. The diamond shape from the main logo became the foundation. Together, we explored different symbols designed to give each value its own personality.
The result was five original illustrations, all sharing one visual language to express their values while remaining rooted in the existing brand.

Maybe you don't need a rebrand. You just need more ways for your brand to show up.
That's what I recently did with Big Fish Technology. We retained the existing logo and visual foundation and built on that. Driven by a company values initiative, I worked with their team to expand their identity.
The project included formalizing a brand guide, expanding their logo suite and colors, and developing a visual system to express their core values. Now, we're carrying the designs into challenge coins, presentation graphics, social media, and in-office signage.
Want to retain your brand but expand the ways it can show up? Let's talk!

A logo is not enough. You need a bigger idea.
Redeemer Church came with a clear vision for communicating its ministry focus. The challenge wasn’t just designing a cool logo, but creating a full identity to carry the message across multiple touchpoints.
While the brand starts with a memorable, flexible mark, we expanded it into a full logo suite, paired with complementary typography, colors, textures, and supporting elements that all work together across signage, apparel, social media, and print.
So yes, you need a logo. But I’d argue your brand needs much more.
