The Power of Story
08/29/2026
It is with a heavy heart we acknowledge the passing of Will Murray, author of numerous Edgar Rice Burroughs adventure titles Oasis has published in audio. I had the pleasure of meeting Will on several occasions. A literary historian, he loved Burroughs, and was an authority on several of the most famous pulp characters including The Shadow, Doc Savage and more.
Rest in peace, Will.

Do you know of a librarian who is doing an incredible job? What about a fabulous local library?
For several months, weโve been working on a new project called The Vitamin Book Club, an audiobook community. Rebecca is still building our site, so you might find gaps here or there. (Feel free to let us know if you find one!) However, this video shows one aspect of the projectโour attempt to honor one local librarian and one local library every single month.
While we get this going, we could use some help from thoughtful folks who use their libraries and love them. If you have nominations, weโd be so grateful to hear them.
Libraries are vital institutions, now more than ever. And librarians are keepers of the flame.

๐๐๐๐ฅ ๐ก๐ฎ๐ฆ๐๐ง ๐ง๐๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ have been hired by a company that has been making old-world, real-studio audiobooks for nearly thirty years. No uncanny valley. This is real voice, with all its complexity, emotion, and variance.
๐๐๐ฐ ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ have been written with an engaging, conversational tone. (Our goal vibe is โcasual evening-lecture at an eclectic bookshop.โ)

1. The dreary weight of the real world drives Alice's curiosity, leading her to tumble into Wonderland. So, letโs talk about escape. Do you think fantasy is a healthy way to process fear and pain? How do you know if youโre using fantasy to figure out life vs. using fantasy to avoid action that would help your life improve?
2. The Queen of Hearts is both hilarious and horrifying with her constant tantrums. What can her erratic behavior and absolute authority teach us about society, arbitrary laws, politics, and cultural power?
3. What sort of โmadnessโ is more dangerous, the unpredictable Mad Hatterโs or the calculating Cheshire Catโs? Why might the Mad Hatter be terrified of the Queen while the Cheshire Cat considers her a source of mockery?
4. How do Alice's constant size changes, as well as the insults she has received about about her intelligence, manners, and size, impact her ability to navigate the strange world in which she has found herself?

Letโs make that world together.
๐๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ?
Every month, we will hand-pick a single extraordinary audiobook and give you everything you need to explore it. We will curate and produce timeless, classic audio titles that can be obtained through libraries or retailers. Then, we will offer free bonus content you can use in your family, classroom, or local community.
๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ?
Step away from the mad roar of the world and let us tend your weary hearts a while with real audio. Breathe deeply. Maybe gather a friend or two. Maybe simply rest in the joy of knowing that people all around the country are taking in the same stories as you are this month. (You might even connect with a few on our social media pages.)
Contrary to popular belief, more is not always better. A collection of untapped titles is just clutter that weighs you down with guilt. Our curation and resources make it easy for you to shake off the excess.

NOTE: If you peruse our site, youโll notice pages for โLibrary-of-the-Monthโ and "Librarian-of-the-Month.โ You might also notice that we are looking for educators and librarians to help us write congenial introductions that connect with a weary world. Weโll share more about both opportunities in future emails. Stay tuned. :)

Here at the height of his poetic power, Malcolm Guite delivers a tale of adventure in ballad form that plumbs the depths of the human soul, carries readers through the Wasteland, and sets them upon the numinous shores of Faerie in all its mystery and meaning.
In this first volume of Merlinโs Isle, join the prophesied youth, Sir Galahad, and the other knights of the quest as they set out from Camelot to achieve the Holy Grail. The accomplishment of their goal will not only heal the wounded Fisher-King, but will bring about the long hoped-for healing of the land itself.
Guite follows in the epic footsteps of Spenser, Milton, Dante, and Tennyson, yet this is not poetry destined soley for the halls of academiaโitโs a story to be enjoyed by young and old alike, a story to be read aloud among friends and family, a story to be cherished for generations to come.
Now in audio, Galahad and the Grail is read by the poet himself.
