Mark Sudduth began HurricaneTrack from humble beginnings in 1999, beginning with an annual publication of a Hurricane Tracking Map for local radio and news stations in the Wilimington, NC Area. Over the following 2 decades, HurricaneTrack has evolved to become a Crowd Funded, Science Based project aimed at informing and educating the public on Severe Weather and Hurricanes, and covering weather events live in an immersive way unmatched elsewhere. We are completely 100% crowdfunded, thanks to viewers like YOU! Heavy rains associated with eastern Pacific tropical systems and upper level energy have caused the Rio Ruidoso to become quite active today.
Recent heavy rain from the record El Niño, as well as tropical systems influencing the weather pattern of the Southwest has led to a significant increase in the flow of the Rio Grande river.
Here’s a drone shot looking at Phoenix as the rain begins to move in from the east Pacific. There is a flood threat for the Southwest U.S. over the coming days due to east Pac tropical systems and and upper level trough digging in.
One of several cars that got stuck in flood water in downtown Norfolk, Virginia Thursday night. The thing is, these guys just didn’t want to get their feet wet. So, they called 911 and the fire department water rescue team came out and did their thing. Good training I guess.
