We loved the conversations this story brought to our Sunday morning!

Sometimes the 10 Commandments are presented to us as the "set" of 10 specific rules to follow! We learned yesterday that God gave these 10 guiding commands to help the Israelites make decisions in their newly freed lives.
Ask your child what rule at home is the hardest for them to follow - and what the purpose behind it may be!

As parents, our effect is dictated not so much by our house rules and guidelines but by our own nervous system and emotional state. Regulated parents raise regulated children and dysregulated parents often raise dysregulated children. The good news is that it’s something we can improve immediately.

Our next Parenting Lab is on September 20, right after service at Crosspointe with Steve Daugherty. Steve will give us tools for understanding how our nervous systems function in different states of stress and arousal, as well as how we can learn to recognize and move through these states back to our center with a focus on how all of this affects our relationships, especially our parenting.

Yesterday we wrapped up the Exodus story!

We had a fun day yesterday talking about the Burning Bush and asking LOTS of questions!
