๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ฅ THE VOTES ARE IN! ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ˜

We tallied up the final numbers from our recent poll, and it turns out we had a dead heat tie! ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ Scaled with a double dose of excitement, we made the call: Elephant Toothpaste Explosions take the win! ๐Ÿงชโœจ

Get ready to watch science erupt into massive, foamy streams of fun. Want to try a safe, kid-friendly version right at home? Here is how to make your own mini explosion! ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿฅผ At-Home Elephant Toothpaste Experiment

What You'll Need:

* 1 empty plastic bottle (16 oz or standard water bottle)
* ยฝ cup 3% hydrogen peroxide *(or 6% for an extra foamy pop!)*
* 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap
* 1 packet (1 tbsp) active dry yeast
* 3 tablespoons warm water
* A few drops of food coloring
* Safety glasses & a tray or shallow pan to catch the foam

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prep the Base: Place the empty bottle in the middle of your tray. Pour in ยฝ cup of hydrogen peroxide, a sq**rt of dish soap, and a few drops of food coloring. Swirl gently to mix.
2. Activate the Catalyst: In a separate small bowl, mix the packet of yeast with 3 tablespoons of warm water. Stir for about 30 seconds until dissolved and smooth.
3. Launch the Reaction! Using a funnel (or a steady hand), pour the yeast mixture directly into the bottle and quickly step back!

What's Happening? ๐Ÿงฌ
The yeast acts as a catalyst, rapidly breaking down the hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen gas. The trapped oxygen bubbles create a sudden eruption of warm, thick foam!

Did you try this at home? Drop a picture of your foamy creations in the comments below! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

It is with deep sorrow in our hearts that we share some very sad news with our community. Our beloved rabbit, Bunsen, has passed away.

Bunsen was such a special part of our team here at The Science Zone, bringing endless smiles, gentle curiosity, and so much joy to everyone who visited. Whether he was hopping around, greeting curious young scientists, or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon snack, Bunsen had a way of making our space feel like home.

We know how much he meant to all of our visitors, campers, and friends. We will miss his sweet presence dearly, but his memory will always remain a cherished part of our Science Zone family.

Thank you all for loving Bunsen as much as we did, and for being such a supportive community during this difficult time. ๐Ÿค

Ever wonder why theyโ€™re called "corn" snakes? ๐ŸŒฝ๐Ÿ

Itโ€™s actually not because they eat corn. itโ€™s because the checkerboard pattern on their bellies looks just like kernel patterns on Indian corn!

Todayโ€™s camp face-painting reveal was inspired by our very own 19 year old corn snake, Kit!

Kit was rehomed to us at The Science Zone in 2023 when her original owner left for college. At 19, sheโ€™s proof that corn snakes are built to thrive! Unlike many snakes that prefer to stay hidden, Kit is bold, curious, and constantly exploring her habitat especially when she gets to hang out and be held by our team.

Check out today's face paint transformation in the photos! Did your camper rock a face painting ? Drop a photo in the comments! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐ŸŽจ

Our team pulled out the face paint and got to work for one of our final camp daysโ€”and just LOOK at this incredible transformation! ๐ŸฆŽ๐Ÿ’› Lady, one of our leopard geckos, officially has a twin! Those tiny painted spots are everything.

We are so missing our awesome campers already! Huge thanks to everyone who made this summer so wild, spotty, and fun.
