Take a close look at the photo. How many hazards can you identify? 👀

A few things to consider:
🔹 Are all cylinders properly secured to prevent tipping or falling?
🔹 Is the method used to secure them adequate and positioned correctly?
🔹 Are cylinders stored with the required protective valve caps when not in use?
🔹 Are oxygen and fuel-gas cylinders properly separated when in storage?
🔹 Are the cylinders clearly identified by their labels rather than relying on cylinder color?
🔹 Is this area being used for storage, or are the cylinders actually in use? That distinction can affect the requirements.
🔹 Could surrounding equipment, carts, hoses, and other materials expose the cylinders to damage?

🐍 Rattlesnake Safety: Stay Alert. Stay Safe.
Warmer weather means rattlesnakes are more active, especially on construction sites, oil and gas locations, remote job sites, hiking trails, and areas with tall grass or rock piles.

Protect yourself by following these simple safety tips:
✅ Stay on established paths whenever possible.
✅ Watch where you place your hands and feet.
✅ Never reach into brush, rock crevices, or under equipment without checking first.
✅ Wear sturdy boots and long pants when working in snake-prone areas.
✅ Listen for the distinctive rattle—but remember, not every rattlesnake will rattle before striking.
✅ Give snakes plenty of space. Never attempt to handle, kill, or move one.
✅ If bitten, remain as calm as possible, keep the affected limb immobilized below heart level if practical, call 911 immediately, and seek emergency medical care. Do not cut the wound, apply ice, or attempt to suck out the venom.

A few moments of awareness can prevent a life-threatening injury. Make rattlesnake awareness part of every pre-job safety briefing when working in areas where snakes may be present.
