πΈβοΈ What a summer it's been at Mercer Family Resource Center! βοΈπΈ
August has been a whirlwind and apparently so is September as we're nearing the end of the month! Between preparing for our upcoming Dancing with the Stars of Casper event and our staff soaking up some well-deserved personal time before back-to-school season, things have been BUSY. But we still found time to slow down, recharge, and connect as a team at our staff retreat day at Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park! π³π
A big thank you to Sona Rummel for setting up a fun workout that got everyone up and moving! πͺ What a great way to kick off the day.
We're also so grateful to Lisa Brown for setting up, providing beautiful materials, and guiding us through a meaningful craft activity. We explored our internal fears and how they try to protect us, then created some truly beautiful collages featuring letters written by "Fear" alongside our own rebuttals, choosing not to let fear control our lives. π¨βοΈ It was powerful, eye-opening, and a reminder of the courage it takes to keep showing up for the families we serve.
Our amazing staff brought a wonderful potluck spread (we ate well, friends ππ½οΈ), and we wrapped up the day with a team-building Murder Mystery! π΅οΈββοΈπ After much sleuthing, the culprit was revealed: Cash McGraw, played by the one and only Craig Mitchell, was the murderer! π±
Days like this remind us how lucky we are to work alongside such a caring, creative, and fun group of people. Now we're refreshed and ready for a great fall! π

We're proud to share that Nick Mitchell and Jill Davis recently completed Fundraising Fundamentals, a three-day course from The Fund Raising School at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, held right here at Casper College! π
Founded in 1974, The Fund Raising School has helped train fundraising professionals for 50 years. The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy is the world's first school dedicated solely to the study and teaching of philanthropy. Beyond the core skills of effective fundraising, the course brought together nonprofit professionals from across Wyoming, creating meaningful connections and a chance to share ideas, challenges, and successes with peers who share a passion for making a difference.
A huge thank you to the Wyoming Community Foundation and the Wyoming Nonprofit Network for hosting this training and bringing world-class professional development to Wyoming! π Your commitment to strengthening nonprofits across our state makes a real difference, and we're grateful for the opportunity.
Nick and Jill came back energized, full of fresh ideas, and ready to put what they learned into action for Mercer Family Resource Center and the families we serve. π‘π€
Please join us in congratulating them on this accomplishment! π And to everyone who supports our work: your generosity is what makes all of this possible. We can't wait to show you what's next!

π₯ Mercer Family Resource Center is so excited to be part of Sounds Like September Fest again this year! πΈπ€
For the past two years, this festival has grown into a vibrant celebration of creativity, courage, and community. Casper is full of incredible young people β artists, musicians, creators, dreamers β but too many of them feel like there's no space for them to shine. Most performers and vendors have been between the ages of 6 and 21, and many had never been given a platform before. When they stepped forward, they showed us just how much talent, passion, and potential lives right here in Natrona County.
That's exactly why Mercer Family Resource Center supports this event. Our mission is rooted in making sure the youth in our community feel like they belong β and Sounds Like September Fest gives them a real stage and a real voice. When a young person performs their first song or sells their first piece of art in front of a crowd that cheers them on, that's not just a fun afternoon β it's a message that they matter, and their community is paying attention.
We're proud to stand behind an event that turns "there's no space for us" into "look what we made." See you there! π
Welcome back Mercer Family Resource Center to the festival.
We are so grateful to have them come and share the love they have for our community. If you are going through hard times, they are a great place to start with for help. Make sure to go say hi to these amazing ladies.
