šŸ’ŽšŸ‘– IT’S OFFICIAL: DENIM & DIAMONDS! šŸ‘–šŸ’Ž

We’ve finalized the theme for Beard the Change: Expo & Gala — and we’re going DENIM & DIAMONDS!

Get ready to trade the traditional black-tie look for something with a little more Wyoming style. Break out your best denim, add some sparkle, and come ready for an unforgettable night supporting an important cause.

Denim. Diamonds. Beards. And a community coming together for men’s mental health.

Beard the Change is about more than one night. We’re raising money to support men’s mental health initiatives right here in our community and bringing people together around a conversation that deserves more attention.

So polish the boots, grab the denim, bring out the diamonds, and get ready.

We don’t need fewer strong men. We need more of them to STAY.

As a mom of boys, there is one thing I think about often…

Who are we raising them to become?

I don’t just want to raise boys who can throw a football, win a wrestling match, or succeed in a classroom.

I want to raise boys who know they are loved.
Boys who know it’s okay to ask for help.
Boys who know that being strong doesn’t mean keeping everything bottled up.
Boys who know how to be a good friend, a good husband, a good father, and a good man.

And I believe that starts with community.

It starts with the coach who notices the kid sitting on the sidelines. The teacher who sees potential in a child who doesn’t see it in himself. The mentor who takes the time to listen. The business owner who sponsors the team, hires that teenager for his first job, or simply shows up.

Those moments may seem small to us.

But to a child, they can become part of the foundation they carry for the rest of their life.

As moms, we can’t always be everywhere our children go. We can’t protect them from every disappointment, every failure, or every hard season.

But we can help build a village around them.

And when we give our children strong roots, we aren’t just raising stronger kids.

We’re helping raise healthier men, stronger families, and a community where people know they don’t have to face life alone.

That is why Community Roots is so deeply personal to me.

Because I’m not just thinking about the children we have today.

I’m thinking about the men they will become tomorrow. ā¤ļø

……. Thank you to all the Dads, Uncles and Grandpas that step up to help guide our children!

Recently, someone asked me, ā€œWhat are your goals?ā€

Other than winning a pageant, what are your goals?

Honestly, it made me stop and think. But then I realized… if you know me, you know I’m always working toward something. ā¤ļø

One goal I’ve been working on for a LONG time is inner peace—being happy with who I am and not worrying so much about what others think of how I look, dress, wear my hair, or do my makeup.

ā€œGrow your hair out.ā€
No thanks. Short hair is ME. šŸ’‡ā€ā™€ļø

ā€œThat isn’t your color.ā€
Maybe not, but it makes me happy.

ā€œYou should do your makeup this way.ā€
If I need help, I’ll ask. šŸ˜‰

And if I ever decide I do want to change something? That’s my choice too.

I’ve come so far from where I was years ago, and I’m incredibly proud of myself.

My goal isn’t perfection.

My goal is peace. Peace with who I am and the freedom to be unapologetically ME. ā¤ļø

Pssst…. I have more goals, I’ll be posting about šŸ˜‰

šŸ‘Ÿ LACE UP FOR OUR KIDS šŸ‘Ÿ

Sometimes making a difference starts with something as simple as a pair of shoes. ā¤ļø

As I continue my journey as Mrs. Oil City, I wanted to find a way to make my pageant journey about more than just a crown.

I’m teaming up with local businesses, community members, and generous donors to raise money that will help support my journey while also putting new shoes on the feet of kids right here in our community.

Because our kids deserve to feel confident, supported, and ready to chase whatever dreams they have. šŸ‘ŸāœØ

And this is exactly what Community Roots is about — investing in our children, supporting the people who make our communities strong, and reminding each other that when we work together, small steps can make a BIG difference.

If you’re a business that would like to partner with me, or someone who would simply like to donate, I would be incredibly grateful.

Every dollar. Every pair of shoes. Every person who steps up. It all matters.

Let’s lace up for our kids. šŸ’—šŸ‘Ÿ

Real change starts with community.

As you all know, I am very passionate about youth sports. I believe sports can build confidence, character, strength, discipline, resilience, and the everyday coping skills our kids will carry with them long after the season ends.

But lately, I’ve been thinking about something…

What happens when a child isn’t the most athletic?
What happens when they don’t understand the game as quickly?
What happens when they struggle to keep up?

Do we see those kids?

Do we listen to them?

Do we make sure they are still learning, growing, and building confidence — or do they quietly get left behind?

Because the child who isn’t scoring the touchdowns, making the baskets, or winning the matches may be the child who needs their coach to believe in them the most.

Coaches, I’m asking you: Are you seeing every child? Are you listening to every child? Are you looking for the strengths they may not even know they have yet?

But this also makes me look at us as parents.

Are we letting our coaches coach?

Are we trusting the people who have volunteered their time to teach our children? Are we allowing our kids to struggle, learn, make mistakes, receive correction, and figure things out without stepping in every time?

Our kids don’t need perfect seasons.
They don’t need to win every game.
They don’t all need to be the best athlete.

They need to know that they belong.

They need adults who will see them, challenge them, encourage them, and believe in them.

Because sometimes the greatest lesson a child takes away from youth sports isn’t how to win.

It’s learning ā€œI can do hard things. I can keep going. I can handle disappointment. I have people in my corner. And I matter.ā€

That’s why I believe so strongly in youth sports.

Let’s make sure we’re giving every child the opportunity to experience the very things we say sports are supposed to teach them. ā¤ļø

What an amazing night for moms to dance with their boys! šŸ’™šŸˆ

Last night, the Casper Junior Football League hosted the GridIron Gala, and it was such a beautiful reminder of what youth sports are really about.

Moms were dressed to the nines, boys were dressed up or proudly wearing their football jerseys, and everyone came together on the dance floor—no matter what team you cheer for.

For me, there is a special kind of sisterhood that comes from being a sports mom. ā¤ļø

We know the early mornings, the late nights, the practices, the games, the wins, the losses, the nerves, the tears, and the pride that comes with watching our boys grow.

And somewhere along the way, the moms become a team too.

We cheer for each other. We encourage each other. We celebrate each other’s kids. We show up.

Last night was a beautiful picture of that sisterhood—and I loved every minute of watching these moms and boys make memories together.

Because it really does take a village, and I’m so thankful to be part of this one. šŸˆā¤ļø

Feelings are a funny thing.

You can genuinely love what you do. You can give without expecting anything in return. You can show up because you care, because you believe in something, because people matter to you.

And still… some days it just hits.

You get tired. You feel underappreciated. You wonder if anyone notices how much you’re doing or how much of yourself you’re giving.

Not because you need recognition. Not because you regret any of it.

You’re just human.

I think sometimes the people who are constantly pouring into everyone else forget that they need to be poured into, too.

And maybe this is part of why I believe so strongly in community support.

When you’re sitting at your child’s tournament and you look around and see the names of local businesses on the kids’ jerseys, banners around the field, or sponsors supporting the event, those businesses are doing more than putting their name out there.

They’re investing in our kids.

They’re helping put equipment in their hands, opportunities in front of them, and experiences in their memories.

And I think we have a responsibility to give back to those businesses, too.

Shop local. Say thank you. Tell people about them. Choose them when you can.

Because community support should go both ways.

We pour into each other.
We show up for each other.
And when we do, our kids get to see what community really looks like. ā¤ļø
