"My Own Thumbelina"
She was a fairy 🧚🏾♀️✨ I've not hugely followed the nostalgia trend that's going on right now but I rewatched The Little Princess (1995 film) and it was the start of my inspiration for this piece ( + the soundtrack is really good!). Tinkerbell and of course Thumbelina are the other two inspirations (though I still haven't rewatched those in years... for now).
But this was such a delightful painting to create and it was very fun just spraying glitter and shimmer onto this painting! Now I have to struggle to find a big enough frame to protect this little wonderland 🖼️

I designed postcards using only type 🪩🕺🏾✨!!!
This Soul Train series has been quietly sitting on my portfolio site but I want to start sharing more of my design work and processes on social media. And after a very fun visit back to Chicago I decided to share more about this series first! ☺️✨

Lastly, huge thank you to for having me as an emerging artist ✨
My work is still on display at Cup of Joe!
Enjoy the summer and if you pop by the cafe, feel free to tag me in your stories!
