Mission-critical schedules move fast. A strong fabrication partner needs to move with them.

Our Des Moines team is doing just that, delivering multiple fabrication packages on aggressive timelines, with multiple completed, currently in the pipeline and more ahead.

Backed by more than 200,000 square feet of fabrication space across Modern, we have the capacity to respond, adapt and help our partners keep projects moving.

More than capacity. A fabrication partner.

Modern was proud to sponsor the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal Manufacturing Conference and celebrate the manufacturers driving growth across our region.

Congratulations to Guy Simons of Don Hummer Trucking, who won the custom recycling can collection box fabricated by our Quad Cities team!

We’re proud to be featured by TrueNorth Companies for Modern’s strong safety performance and low EMR. It’s a reflection of the commitment our teams make every day to planning well, working safely and looking out for one another.

“We try to connect with people on a personal level and make them part of the solution,” - Heath Rinderknecht, Director of Safety

Modern Mechanical Contractors | HVAC, Plumbing & Industrial Fabrication in the Midwest Modern is a trusted mechanical contractor delivering HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal fabrication services across commercial and industrial sectors. Over 86 years of experience, safety-focused, union-built, and Midwest-based.

Mission critical construction demands repeatable, reliable ex*****on.

That starts long before installation.

With early VDC coordination, Modern can model complex piping systems, identify opportunities for prefabrication and move more work into a controlled shop environment.

That means greater quality control and consistency, fewer field fabrication activities, reduced jobsite congestion and a safer, more predictable path to installation.

Planning a complex or mission critical project? Talk with Modern about how early VDC and prefabrication can improve ex*****on.

Modern is honored to sponsor the THRIVE Brain Cancer Burger & B**r Benefit, a cause that hits close to home. ❤️ In memory of our former team members, Sara and Dave, we’re proud to stand with THRIVE in supporting local brain cancer research and creating hope for more families. 🎟️ https://www.thrivebraincancer.com/burger-beer-benefit

This year is extra special because, for the first time, we're partnering with an event sponsor for our Burger & B**r Benefit for Brain Cancer 2026, and we couldn't be more grateful that it's ⭐ Modern ⭐

When we learned how deeply has impacted their team, we knew this partnership was meant to be. In a unified company like Modern with a strong mission, culture, and core values, the loss and challenges of a rare disease like are felt by everyone. Together, we'll be honoring the lives of their former teammates, Dave and Sara, while standing alongside other local families that have faced this devastating diagnosis.

Brain cancer is a lot. It's overwhelming, isolating, and underfunded. But when a community comes together, we can create hope, support one another, and push for a better future.

This partnership is about so much more than sponsoring an event. It's about people coming together, carrying one another through grief, and turning heartbreak into hope. Thank you, Modern, for sharing your stories, opening your hearts, and joining us in this mission.

Stand with us and don’t miss this special night of food, fun, and community support. Get your tickets now https://www.thrivebraincancer.com/burger-beer-benefit
