✨ NEW MURAL AT THE EASTERN IOWA AIRPORT ✨

Turning Flyover Country into Bourbon Country.

We’re so excited to share this new mural created by Iowa artist Jenna Brownlee for Cedar Ridge Winery & Distillery at the Eastern Iowa Airport.

The design tells a distinctly Iowa story—from rows of corn and the landscape where it all begins, through the craft of distilling and aging, to the glass at the end of the journey. 🌽🥃

Jenna brought it all together with a beautiful mix of hand-drawn illustration, bold color, Iowa landscape, and Cedar Ridge history—creating a piece that feels both nostalgic and completely contemporary.

There’s something special about local art meeting local spirits—both rooted in place, shaped by the land, and made with care. This mural celebrates that connection: Iowa creativity alongside Iowa craft, each telling its own version of the same story.

On View Gallery was grateful to have a hand in bringing this project together and connecting another incredible Iowa artist with a space where her work can be seen by travelers from near and far.

And what better place for it than the airport? A little reminder for everyone arriving, departing, or just passing through that there’s a whole lot happening here in “flyover country.”

This mural was an absolute joy to be a part of from start to finish.

A huge thank you to Zing, whose talent, professionalism, and artistic vision brought this project to life. We were also incredibly fortunate to work with the McGrath sisters, who truly believe in the value of public art and were wonderful, supportive partners throughout the entire process.

A special thank you as well to the Czech Village/New Bohemia Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District (CVNB SSMID), whose generous support helps bring beautiful public art like this to our neighborhood. Their commitment to investing in local artists and creating vibrant public spaces makes projects like this possible.

Sometimes the greatest growth comes from the struggle.

As we kick off another mural season, we wanted to look back at a project that will always be close to our hearts: Floral Energy by GLeo.

For me, this project became a reminder that growth often happens in the moments when you’re stretched beyond your comfort zone. Looking back, I’m grateful for every lesson it taught me and every person who helped bring it across the finish line.
