I wanted to post that Unity Care Group, LLC is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at our Springdale, Ohio location!

If you're new to the field that's okay. Let me answer a few questions for you!

DSPs provide daily support, care and companionships to adults with disabilities. This can be individuals who have physical, and/or developmental disabilities. It means you could see clients who have behavioral issues, or need help with socialization, toileting, meal and food assistance, or transportation.

We are currently hiring in our new day program located at 305 Cameron Rd, Springdale OH. I have to admit I'm a little biased when I say this is my favorite position to hire for, because it's so much fun.

Day Programs are locations that are built around creating an amazing day for individuals who have disabilities. It is a place to have interaction, socialization, fun experiences, as well as building independent living skills and vocational skills.

This is a job that while comes with hard work, is the most fun. You start your day picking up clients in a company provided vehicle, bringing them our ADS location. We have a center that is built for fun all day long! Arcade and interactive game rooms, community room, movie theatre, a gym, computer lab, beauty space, and a slew of other spaces are at your disposal to create an exciting experience for the clients every day. We believe every individual has the right to be a part of their community, so we have a community outing on our schedule every day.

You'll use a Hoyer lift to help with clients who need assistance with changing, so there isn't a ton of heavy lifting. But you will need to be fit enough to help shift the individual or move them if needed. You'll help warm up their meals at lunch time and assist with feeding if necessary. You'll complete paperwork and documentation as needed and then take the clients home in the afternoon. Tidy up, take out trash, disinfect and setup for the next day and call it a day.

The hours for this position are 8:30AM-4:30PM Monday-Friday. There are no weekends and we are closed most major holidays. You'll work with a group of passionate leaders who love this field and are dedicated to the clients here.

This is a position for someone who is a "people person" and takes joy in helping other. You'll need patience and to understand that every individual learns and grows at their own pace and has different needs. You must be comfortable driving company vehicles of different sizes and have a clean driver's record.

We can absolutely do training but would love someone with experience as an STNA, CNA, HHA, BHT, or similar field.

Requirements:
GED or High School Diploma
Driver's License with a clean driving record - no points, citations or at-fault accidents in the last 2 years
CPR & First Aid Certificate - must be willing to obtain if not already have
Must be able to pass a background check
Must be able to pass a drug screen *medical ma*****na card not accepted*
